Neal Cohen works with Product Safety Advisers as a Senior Director. Cohen’s deep professional product safety expertise includes experience as a senior attorney, a senior legal advisor in the Office of Compliance, and other senior roles in the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), where he worked for seven years.  Mr. Cohen has deep experience counseling thousands of companies about their regulatory obligations from both a government and a private perspective.

Cohen focuses on “all things CPSC” and product safety,including not only recall legalrepresentation before the CPSC, but also related services such as regulatory compliance consulting, crisis consulting, and strategic consulting on recall planning and compliance programs to mitigate risk to protect a client’s liability, brand, and reducerisk. Mr. Cohen has experience counseling brands facing social media crises around issues of alleged consumer safety and compliance. 

Cohen is a frequent speaker at the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO.org). He recently presented on product misuse and social media responses and on the Internet of Things (IoT) Devices at ICPHSO’S 2018 Symposium in Orlando, FL.  Cohen is also faculty at the Center for Supply Chain Management Studies, John Cook  School of Business, Saint Louis University where he has taught a course on product safety data in 2016, 2017, and 2018 (invited).  Mr. Cohen’s extensive public speaking on product safety topics can be found here.
